MADFI: Minnesota Association of Defensive Firearm Instructors

About MADFI

The Minnesota Association of Defensive Firearm Instructors (MADFI) was founded in 2005 to provide a certification path for NRA-certified instructors to teach Minnesota Permit to Carry classes under new, more restrictive rules passed by the Minnesota Legislature that year.

Since that time, MADFI has served not only as a training and certification organization, but has taken an activist role several times to defend and extend the rights of permit holders in the state.

MADFI operates as a non-profit corporation. Its officers are compensated for their time in administering the organization and conducting training.
